▶ CHARACTER
NAME: Guido Mista
CANON: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure : Vento Aureo
CANON POINT: post series
AGE: 18
BACKGROUND: history
PERSONALITY: On an average day Guido Mista is relatively laid back and seeks out the simple pleasures in life; he wants to enjoy things on a rather basic level. He wants things to be uncomplicated; to enjoy pretty girls, food and just live his best life. When he’s not out fighting for what’s right, he seems to like reading magazines and books but doesn’t like to be distracted while doing so. When he’s calm, he’s calm and from the outside that makes it look like he’s truly dim-witted when there’s really a lot going on underneath that blank expression. It’s just part of his nature, that part of him that still wants to live the life with few complications that he had before joining the gang. That boy is still in there, it’s just under layers of violent defiance.
He’s not quite as serious as the rest of the gang and is by far one of the more sociable of the group, but sociable doesn’t always equate to being polite. He’ll bring up strange conversations out of nowhere, often times things that just seem random or possibly inappropriate (e.g. wondering whether someone’s diet has an impact on how their own meat would taste in the event of cannibalism, thinking about vegetarians wearing leather). While he gets along with his teammates on a regular basis, that doesn’t stop him from being rude or mildly disrespectful to them in addition to strangers. If something irritates him he doesn’t always outright say it, instead opting for more silent or stealthy methods of dealing with his issues like sabotaging Narancia’s stereo. He’s not above making fun of his enemies if he’s doing well in battle or even a small one on one issue and he doesn’t have an issue when it comes to keeping his language unfiltered; nothing is too bold for him to say. He is absolutely and un-apologetically rude in some cases, including situations that could lead to violence.
Mista has no problem readily committing acts of violence, whether they be to further the goals of the gang or his own selfish agenda. He doesn’t have a problem picking petty or childish fights with people over even the simplest things, so it’s best not to insult anything that he likes unless you want to be kicked repeatedly. His violent tendencies aren’t all outward rage and posturing, if it means completing an objective for the gang he’s more than willing to engage in torture or murder if it gets them the answers or the outcome that they’re looking for. His approach in these cases is rather cool and casual to an almost disturbing degree, treating the situation as if it means nothing makes him seem all the more formidable for the person on the receiving end. This attitude seems to deeply contrast his actions while engaged in such behaviour, no one should be so calm when it comes to this manner of ‘taking care of business’.
His cool resolve is helpful, though, especially when it comes to entering battle. There’s an air about him in heated situations that says he’s very confident in his abilities, though sometimes that confidence borders on being flat out cocky. Once he’s in a dangerous situation there’s hardly a trace of that nonchalance that he carries with him the rest of the time; it’s replaced by steely resolve and an unquestionable intent to win no matter what. While he’s able to maintain his cool under most circumstances, it does leave some room for him to become reckless when things don’t go exactly as planned. While he is certainly a talented marksman with excellent control of his abilities both with and without his stand, he’s not immune to rushing into battle or making mistakes; these mistakes are often costly to his physical well-being. You’d think after being shot with his own bullets multiple times he’d be better about his approach and not blindly charge in to go for the immediate kill. He is persistent, though, finding ways to adapt to these situations with tactical insight that he doesn’t outwardly seem capable of. He looks for patterns and weak spots to restore order to a battle and gain the upper hand. Even he has a breaking point though, especially when there is far too much on the line and far too much left that is unknown (such as the ‘final battle’).
Aside from being pushed to the brink via battle, there is a good amount of doubt in Mista’s mind when it comes to superstitions. He suffers from anxiety inducing tetraphobia, the fear of the number 4. He doesn’t like seeing it, he doesn’t like hearing it and he certainly doesn’t like having to confront it in a hands on capacity. He rages and becomes paranoid if there are 4 pieces of cake and visibly sweats or panics if he ends up with 4 bullets left. For him this particular number is almost certainly an omen and there’s no telling what will come if it’s attached to a situation or an object. Even his stand, Sex Pistols, completely removes the number 4 from the lineup, skipping from 3 to 5. He’s shown to have other superstitious beliefs, but doesn’t seem to stress over them nearly as much.
He’s really a good guy on the inside, self-sacrificing in more than a few cases. While he is abrupt and volatile with people, he doesn’t seem to like seeing innocent people being targeted for any reason; it doesn’t matter if it’s someone he knows or not and he’ll go out of his way to avoid putting the uninvolved population in danger. He’s rushed to the aid of a woman that was being beaten by thugs and even put himself through extremes that could have killed him to achieve the desired results for the greater good. He cares deeply for his teammates, going above and beyond for them but especially for Bucciarati and Giorno; both of which he shows a great deal of respect for.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Mista is a very skilled marksman, both with and without his Stand ability. Even before he was blessed with an ability, he showed extreme skill and calculation during a situation of duress.
With the Sex Pistols aiding him, he's able to shoot more precisely and control the flow of battle by altering the trajectory of a bullet with them. They are a sentient Stand, so he treats them like people because they don't like to be seen as pets.
Both of these combined make his ability well suited for assassination, but he sucks and he's reckless so he always gets shot too.
INVENTORY: His revolver, a picture of the Bucci gang, a magazine and 3 boxes of ammunition.
