if you want to see it yeah okay but it's probably good that you're in one piece i'm not as useful right now as i was when we met
[ that felt like a stupid thing to say but it was too late ]
i'll see you soon
[ That was all he had to say to that, immediately regretting that he was so weirdly flattered that someone he'd only met once wanted to hang out with him. The day after tomorrow had come rather quickly, he didn't know what he was supposed to wear so he just stuck to what he was used to. Crop top sweater and leather pants, his nerves telling him that his choice had been a bad one.
It didn't make sense for him to be so nervous, it's not like he didn't hang out with people on a regular basis. He had friends. But it was the fact that he'd said it was a date date, wasn't it? He hadn't been actually asked out on a date since before Josuke had left and then it had been...well, still just as confusing. Still, he didn't have to think about it for too much longer, perking up when he saw that unmistakable hair coming toward him. ]
[ It was an interesting way to end a conversation. The day of the date came before he knew it, though. He dressed similarly to how he typically did. Head-to-toe white. Loose pants, a long sleeved shirt, and boots. It was unmistakably him, after all. Mista's easy to see, though. It's very much his style, similar to when they had met the first time. He seems pretty casual about it. He's never really been on a date before, but that's neither here nor there to him.
Ryo's still figuring out how this is supposed to work. He's never really been on actual dates (and the reality was, the only person he hung out with casually was Akira). Still, he watched people here and he would act as normal as he possibly could.
He heard Mista call towards him and picked up his pace, hands in pockets as he approached. He considers how to answer the other. Casually? Tease him? Or -- ]
You're hard to miss.
[ Is that a compliment? Kind of. Coming from Ryo. ]
[ Ryo didn't consider the possibility that he could have been stood up. That would embarrass most people, wouldn't it? He doesn't know if it would have bothered him, though. He's accustomed to getting the things he wants, even if he has to demand them. There's perks to being who and what he is. People tended to do things for him, sometimes without realizing that they were. Hashtag Satan Perks. ]
Oh. I guess that's true.
[ He had no idea. He took a couple of steps to be next to Mista. ]
I have somewhere in mind. Unless you are actually feeling like showing off in there.
[ There wasn't any reason for him to move when Ryo stepped toward him, just barely glancing in the direction of the gun range before shaking his head. ]
I'm fine if you want to go somewhere else, I was only gonna go in if you wanted to. What did you have in mind?
[ He could have just let him lead the way but he was curious, head cocking to the side just a little. ]
I mean, unless it was supposed to be a surprise or something and you just want to lead the way.
[ He had a lot of time to think about this date. How he'd act. What he'd do. What was appropriate. All of those things were important if he wanted to seem like a perfectly normal person. He reached for Mista's arm, and grabbed it, stepping in close and looking towards him easily. ]
Well, I was thinking somewhere that'd be easy to talk a little first. You know, like food? Then maybe we can come here.
[ No surprises, then. It wasn't like Ryo often went on dates, he didn't even typically spend time in savory locations in his free time. But this was different, right? ]
[ Mista hadn't expected for Ryo to take his arm, colour rising to his cheeks again as he nodded idly in response. Just a glance toward his hand, trying not to be too obvious before letting a nervous smile break out over his face.
Christ just breath and don't read into little things, it would have been easier not to analyse everything so much if he hadn't said it was a date date. He tried, though, breathing out a laugh as he shook his head. ]
I've seen a lot of shit, I'm pretty sure your definition of surprise doesn't even compare to any of it.
[ To Ryo, it's kind of funny that he thinks that of him. A thought he keeps to himself, of course. He's glad that he is coming off as normal. Even before he knew who he was, there wasn't anyone who would accuse him of being normal. He keeps his eyes locked on Mista.
Focusing on someone while they talk is a courtesy, and being attentive is good while on a date, he guesses. But there were no doubts about this was. ]
I have just the place, then.
[ It's not too far, too. They can sit, eat, and talk. And he can do his best to get to know Mista. ]
I don't usually go on dates.
[ It could be interpreted as a compliment, right? That he made some sort of exception because he was actually interested in Mista. ]

I promise to be in one piece this time, too.
No pointless fights or nonsense.

You got here early.

Yeah, I left a little early because I thought it was going to take a lot longer to get here...
[ That in itself wasn't particularly strange and he didn't know why he felt like he needed to explain it but he couldn't stop himself. ]
...I didn't want you to think I forgot or stood you up or anything, you know?
i return from beyond.
